Warm Weekend Will Segue Into Cooler Week

A warming trend is expected in Pasadena today through Sunday as weak high pressure builds along the West Coast, according to the National Weather Service.

Just ahead, however, significant cooling and a deep marine layer are forecast for Tuesday through Friday as low pressure moves into the area. 

The San Gabriel Valley is set to warm into the upper 70s and 80s on Sunday. Pasadena should top out at 83. A cooling trend will begin Monday, with a more significant cooling turning expected Tuesday and Wednesday.

Today: Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 77. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 56. South southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Monday: Patchy fog before 11 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 78. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Monday Night: Patchy fog after 11 p.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 54.

Tuesday: Patchy fog before 11 a.m. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 72.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49.
