Scott Harden to Run for School Board

Scott Harden announced today he will be running for PUSD Board of Education in District 4 in the upcoming November elections.

“I decided to jump into this race, certainly not because the road ahead is easy. We are about to face some of the most unbelievably challenging times we’ve ever faced as a community,” said Harden.  “Our children will need all of us, thinking and moving forward, together, building on each other’s great ideas for the future they want for their schools and to best mitigate the impact of what we know is coming. The struggle for proper funding in our public schooling as well as the challenge of living affordably will be our biggest obstacles to our boldest visions.”

Mr. Harden will shape his campaign on three key platform issues – shaping an inclusive vision to solve the district’s biggest challenges, improving Board and District communication with the community in a way that is both reliable and accessible, and making PUSD a ‘top choice’ district through rebranding and cost-effective marketing efforts of existing programs.

Said Harden, “I’m running because I believe I have a unique skill set that you don’t see in an average board member. I’m what you call a service design strategist helping organizations large and small, public and private, to break down the divisions and communication barriers that block real change so that they can dream about their futures. I want to apply my skills to the district that I love with all my heart.”

Mr. Harden has served multiple roles with Don Benito Elementary School’s PTA including four elected terms as the PTA President.  He has also served on the Bungalow Heaven Landmark District board and has managed the Bungalow Heaven neighborhood watch program.  Professionally, Scott is a small business consultant having worked with businesses and nonprofit organizations for over ten years both throughout the country and here in Southern California.
