Sir:
Greetings and congratulations on becoming our mayor in “interesting times!”
I have lived in Pasadena for over 60 years and feel that The Rose Bowl has huge symbolic and financial significance for the City. I am confused over how the Tournament, often viewed as a model of civic pride and support, can turn on the City and troubled about how that affects the financing of the Rose Bowl and national perceptions of Pasadena. Can you provide an explanation about how this came to pass and the actual stakes? Who are the lawyers involved? Can the City website provide ongoing information about the suit? Has the Tournament become an independent competitor with the City rather than its major marketing agency?
Regards,
John Fauvre
