Week Starts Off Cloudy, But Sunny Predictions Ahead

Pasadena will be cloudy most of Monday with a 40 percent chance of rain as a low pressure system approaches from the north and brings cooler weather into the area.

The system also brings with it gusty winds, from the south at five to 10 miles per hour to west at 15 to 20 mph later in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph, according to a Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the National Weather Service.

“Strong west to northwest winds are expected to develop across much of the region late this morning or this afternoon, then persist into tonight,” says the NWS.

Highs will be near 65 Monday. Monday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 46, and winds still capable of 25 mph gusts.

Tuesday will be a “less active day as the effects of the low pressure trough wane,” says the NWS, and it will be mostly sunny in Pasadena, with maximum temperatures bumping up about four degrees but staying below normal. Highs will be near 65, lows around 48, and winds from the west and southwest blow at 10 to 15 mph, sometimes gusting as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny, highs near 65, and the winds calming down a bit – five to 10 mph from the west and southwest. Wednesday night is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low near 48.
