Week Starts With Cold Wind Blowing, Chance of Rain – But Will Likely End With 81 and Plenty of Sun

Monday starts the week with a weak chance of rain — just 20 % — and very cold wind gusts — but the National Weather Service reckons by Tuesday it will be sunny and by Saturday it will be 82 degrees warm.

There will be some lingering wind on Tuesday, but much weaker than Monday. Widespread lows in the upper 30s with frost are possible early Tuesday morning. Otherwise, it will be a nice sunny day with high temperatures remaining cool up to the lower 60s.

More warming is expected on Wednesday as the height rises from the departing trough and flow turns northeasterly. Light northeast winds are expected keeping sunny skies in play and high temperatures come back into the mid- to upper-60s.

Looking ahead to Thursday through Sunday, a change of pace from the past several months is expected. Instead of cold, wet, and dreary weather, the latter half of next week will be warm, dry, and bright. 

An upper-level ridge is expected to drape across the Western US by the weekend, which will bring warm temperatures to the area.

Today: A 20 percent chance of rain before 11am. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 60. Breezy, with a southeast wind 10 to 15 mph becoming northwest 20 to 25 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 39. Wind chill values as low as 30. Windy, with a north northwest wind 25 to 30 mph decreasing to 20 to 25 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 63. Wind chill values as low as 30 early. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 41. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph becoming north northeast 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 68. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 75.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 77.
