Weekend Warmup Predicted for Pasadena

The National Weather Service predicts warming temperatures for Pasadena and other parts of Los Angeles County through Saturday as winds aloft shift to a milder pattern. 

Temperatures are likely to be warmer than normal on Sunday (high of 82) and for much of next week.

According to the NWS forecast, the next three days will be mild and the marine layer, a band of cool moist air from the ocean, will shroud Pasadena each morning. 

For Monday and Tuesday, the forecast shows little change with a weak ridge to the east and an upper low to the north. The low clouds and fog will persist, and temperatures will be 4 to 8 degrees higher away from the beaches. 

Wednesday and Thursday will see a gradual cooling with temperatures remaining above normal. Moisture may increase from the east, bringing a slight chance of thunderstorms to the eastern San Gabriel Mountains and foothills.

Today: Patchy fog before 11 am. Otherwise, cloudy through mid-morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 76. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 55. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming northeast after midnight.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 82. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 80. Southeast wind 5 to 15 mph becoming south southwest in the morning.
