New and Notable

Nobel Laureate David Politzer and professor emeritus Kip Thorne were the distinguished speakers at the November 2011 dedication of the Richard P. Feynman Lecture Hall.

The Watson Lectures of Bren Professor of Chemistry Jonas Peters (“Making Molecules”) and Robert P. Sharp Professor of Geology John Eiler (“The Isotope Time Machine”) are the newest additions to the series podcast. 

The Public Lectures podcast now features Oxford University professor Robert M. May’s Lauritsen Lecture, “Best of Times, Worst of Times: Hard Choices for Tomorrow’s World,” and National Science Foundation director Subra Suresh’s Wouk Lecture, “Scientific Research and Education: Challenges and Opportunities.”

Caltech students prepared a spread of Indian culinary delicacies for world-renowned theoretical physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking’s recent visit to campus. Check out the slideshow here.
