What’s Coming Up for Mijares?

Mijares Restaurant, a third-generation family restaurant that has been serving the Pasadena area for 93 years with its authentic regional cuisine and famous tortillas, tamales and sauces, gives you more reasons to come and visit with a host of events and specials

From August, all the way to October, Mijares has the following lined up:

Book Reading
Saturday, August 17
11:00 am
A performance art book reading of “Illegal Woman: A Gypsy Love Story,” and book signing by author Ralph Gaby Wilson. Reading the book are two young actors who will bring life to the book’s characters. A complimentary appetizer buffet by R-lene will also be served.

Charity Events
Tuesday, August 13
3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Fundraiser Night for La Cañada Flintridge Tournament of Roses Association, where a portion of all sales, dine in and to go, will go towards building their float for the 2014 Pasadena Rose Parade on New Years Day.

Tuesday, October 1
3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Fundraiser Night for the St. Francis Center, where a portion of all sales, dine in and to go, will go to fund their programs and raise public awareness of the St. Francis Center.

Wednesday, October 23
3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Fundraiser Night for Odyssey Charter School, where a portion of all sales, dine in and to go, will go to fund the school’s programs.

For September, Mijares will also celebrate its 93rd anniversary with a Tequila extravaganza. Exact date is to be announced, so watch this space or visit http://www.mijaresrestaurant.com for updates.

Additionally, Mijares will be giving local businesses lunch discounts for their employees. To save $2 off the lunch buffet, or 15% off a meal, simply show your company ID, business card, or pay stub. If you are a local business and your company is not included, simply let Mijares know to have your company listed as part of its participating companies. This offer is available from Monday to Friday, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm only.
