Vice Mayor Felicia Williams’ campaign for State Assembly announced endorsements from several female mayors across the San Gabriel Valley, including Monrovia Mayor Becky Shevlin, Jody Schulz, (Duarte), Cynthia Sternquist (Temple City), and Cory Moss (Industry).

“I am honored to have the backing of these trailblazing mayors and dedicated public servants,” Williams said. “We have worked together to ensure those who live in our cities have the opportunities they need to succeed and can raise their families in safe communities. I will be an Assemblymember who understands the many challenges facing our local cities and fight for them in Sacramento. I thank these mayors for their overwhelming support of my candidacy.”

Williams is running for the Assembly District 41 seat, which is currently held by Anthony Portantino. Portantino cannot seek reelection due to term limits.

Williams has been endorsed by Portantino.

Williams, a native of Pasadena, was been elected to the City Council in 2020. She represents District 2, which covers the central part of the city.

In addition to her role on the City Council, Williams serves as the Vice President of the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority and on the Executive Board of Foothill Transit.

Prior to joining the City Council, Williams served on various City Commissions, including Chair of the Planning Commission, Treasurer of the Pasadena Center Operating Company, Environmental Commission Chair, and Transportation Advisory Commission member.

She also has been active in her community, serving on the Boards of Planned Parenthood Pasadena & San Gabriel Valley, Pasadena Educational Foundation, and Pasadena Police Foundation. She is also a Citizens Police Academy graduate and the Captain of her Neighborhood Watch.

As a finance professional, Williams has worked with cities and counties to finance major infrastructure projects, such as electric, water and sewer systems, parks, public transportation, and fire stations.
