Wintry Week Ahead: ‘Chance of Rain’ Days, Frosty Cold Nights

Pasadena is forecast to be will be well below normal temperatures for this time of year during the first half of this week.

A cold air mass will spread across the San Gabriel Valley from Tuesday to Thursday, causing daytime temperatures to struggle to reach 60 degrees.

Weak high pressure is expected to bring a warmer and drier day on Monday, but with the possibility of heavy drizzle or light rain for the Southland late tonight and Tuesday morning. 

Gusty winds are also expected to develop on Tuesday, which could potentially be damaging. 

Rainfall amounts are expected to be light and near-record low temperatures are possible.

The National Weather Service predicts by Thursday temperatures will still be below normal. Frost could linger into Thursday night and Friday morning. 

Over the weekend, a storm system is expected to move into the area, bringing a cool and unsettled weather pattern.

Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 62. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south in the morning.

Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers after 10 pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers before 10 am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 57. Breezy, with a northwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

Tuesday Night: Patchy frost after 10 pm. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 35. Wind chill values as low as 25. Breezy, with a north wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.

Wednesday: Patchy frost before 10 am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 59. North wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Wednesday Night: Clear, with a low around 38.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 61.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 40.

Friday: A slight chance of rain after 4 pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 62.

Friday Night: A chance of rain, mainly after 10 pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Saturday: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60.

Saturday Night: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44.
