[UPDATED] Police arrested a local transient after she was caught lighting trash on fire and trying to shove it under a door at the Pasadena Police Department early Monday, authorities said.

Alexandra Scully, 47, was booked on suspicion of arson following her arrest shortly after 5 a.m. at the police station at 207 Garfield Ave., Pasadena Police Department Lt. Pete Hettema said.

A police employee monitoring a security camera noticed Scully igniting pieces of paper and shoving them under the door of the door of the agency’s records department, the lieutenant said.

Officers quickly took her into custody without a struggle.

A motive for the alleged arson was not clear. The station sustained no significant damage, Hettema said.

Bail for Scully was set at $50,000 pending her initial appearance in Los Angeles County Superior Court, according to county booking records.
