A contractor working for the city was hospitalized as a precaution after being swarmed by bees in Pasadena on Monday, officials said.
The incident took place about 11:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Nithsdale Road, Pasadena police Lt. Sean Dawkins said.
The victim was working in a tree when the insects became angered and attacked, officials said.
The person suffered several stings and was taken to a hospital as a precaution, city spokeswoman Lisa Derderian said. The swarm dissipated.
