Young Man in His Twenties Jumps Off Colorado Street Bridge to His Death

Pasadena Police and Fire units responded to a person threatening to jump from the Colorado Street Bridge shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday, but the man jumped to his death before first responders could arrive.

The victim was a young man in his twenties, Pasadena Police Lt. John Luna reported.

“We found him in the wash,” Luna said.

Fire Department paramedics determined the man was dead.

Luna said the investigation into the man’s death will be conducted by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, not the Pasadena Police.

Authorities have not released any further information at this time.

There are about 14 suicides a year in Pasadena on average, and typically four a year involve the Colorado Street Bridge, officials said.

In July A man in his thirties died in a local hospital after authorities said he jumped from a top floor of the Schoolhouse parking structure in Old Pasadena.
