Maranatha Students Place in the Top 3 in Congressional Art Competition

As a follow-up to last week’s article in which it was announced that two Maranatha students were selected amongst the seven finalists in Congresswoman Judy Chu’s “Artistic Discovery” competition, Maranatha High School is pleased to announce that the two students placed in the Top 3 overall.

Marian Seo ‘20 was awarded 3rd place and Rachel Molina ‘21 took 2nd place in the annual Congressional Art Competition, a prestigious, nationwide competition held by each member of Congress for students in their district. Congresswoman Chu’s winners were announced during a virtual ceremony on May 29.

Maranatha’s Visual Arts faculty Diane Barnhart reported, “I am pleased to announce that our students did very well! Each will be given a nice monetary award and their artwork will be prominently displayed in Judy Chu’s office for a year.”

Maranatha High School is proud of the hard work these artists have displayed as a reflection of the talents the Lord has given them.
