An Inspiring Visit: Homeboy Industries Engages La Salle College Prep Seniors

La Salle College Preparatory welcomed guest speakers from Homeboy Industries for a meaningful and inspiring conversation with the senior class centered on compassion, dignity, and hope. The visit provided students with a powerful opportunity to engage directly with individuals whose lives reflect the values of resilience and transformation.

As part of their curriculum, seniors have been reading Tattoos on the Heart by Father Greg Boyle, whose vision and work led to the founding of Homeboy Industries. Building on the themes explored in the classroom, students heard firsthand stories that brought the book’s messages to life, connecting academic learning to real-world experiences. Through these honest reflections, seniors were encouraged to consider the importance of empathy, community, and second chances—principles that lie at the heart of La Salle’s Lasallian mission.
