Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy Welcomes Students with Joyful First Day
Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy (FSHA) welcomed students for the first day of school, launching the school’s 94th year of inspiring and educating young women. The campus buzzed with excitement as students reconnected with friends, greeted teachers, and began a new academic journey filled with promise.
The first day brought with it all the treasured traditions of life on the Hill. Proud seniors rolled into the upper lot in their decorated cars, pausing to capture photos of the milestone moment. Just steps away, freshmen navigated the nerves of finding classrooms and opening lockers for the first time—sometimes with little success. In true FSHA spirit, classmates quickly stepped in to help, even offering to share their lockers until the right combination could be figured out. The result was a campus alive with laughter, encouragement, and the warmth of sisterhood.
“The first day of school on the Hill is always a moment of grace and renewal,” said Marlena Conroy, president of Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy. “To see young women from every corner of the globe come together in laughter and learning is to glimpse the very heart of our mission. Their curiosity is boundless, their kindness unmistakable, and their joy a living reflection of our Dominican charism. On the Hill, they discover that faith, integrity, and truth transcend borders and unite us as one.”
Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy is known for pairing rigorous academics with a supportive, faith-filled community. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves, think critically, and pursue their passions—whether in the classroom, in research, on stage, or on the field.
“The joy on campus today is evidence of our beautiful community, which is one of the pillars of our Dominican Catholic tradition,” shared Principal Rebecca Bostic. “We know that in community, our girls will be supported in their studies, be encouraged to explore opportunities and discover their passions; we are grateful to be part of the formation of the future leaders of our world.”
Before they headed off to classes, there were a few announcements with the entire student body gathering in a spirited welcome assembly. Voices united as the community sang the school’s alma mater—returning TOLOGS and new ones—together as one.
As the school year begins, FSHA warmly invites prospective families to join upcoming events and experience life on the Hill firsthand.
