Harmony Cano to Lead Expanded Learning Programs



Harmony Cano, who has been the Coordinator of Expanded Learning Programs since 2023, will provide stability in assuming leadership of the department. She will be responsible for before- and after-school LEARNs, academic and enrichment opportunities, and summer programs. Ms. Cano was the TK-5 program specialist for the Center for Independent Study (CIS) from 2021-23, and an educational technology specialist in ITS from 2014-21. Before that from 2005-14, she was a language arts and social studies teacher at Washington Middle School (now known as Octavia E. Butler Magnet). Ms. Cano has a Master’s degree in Education from Point Loma Nazarene University, a Bachelor’s from the University of Arizona, and teaching and administrative credentials.
