Immaculate Heart Celebrates Its 6th Annual Winter Art Show Showcasing Student Creativity and Vision

Immaculate Heart proudly hosted its 6th Annual Winter Art Show in December, a vibrant celebration of student creativity and the strength of the school’s visual arts curriculum. This year’s exhibition placed a special emphasis on the innovative and deeply personal works produced by students in AP Art and Design, whose portfolios reflect both technical skill and imaginative risk-taking.

The show was co-curated by students Heather Y. (’26) and Carsyn R. (’29), who gave a pre-show curator introduction to welcome guests and provide insight into the creative process behind the exhibition. Working alongside Visual Arts teacher Caitlin Slegr Ross, their collaboration brought a thoughtful, student-centered perspective to the presentation, highlighting a wide range of mediums and artistic approaches. From dynamic mixed-media pieces to explorations in drawing, painting, and digital design, each work offered a unique expression of the student voice. Families, faculty, alumnae, and friends gathered on campus to witness the breadth of talent and the depth of artistic inquiry nurtured in Immaculate Heart classrooms.

“Developing student artists is in our DNA, and is very much a part of our long-standing creative tradition that dates back to Corita Kent’s time at Immaculate Heart College,” said Ross. “Our students are encouraged to explore, to question, to take a stand, and to express themselves with confidence. This year’s Winter Art Show reflects that spirit beautifully.”

Immaculate Heart is proud to continue its longstanding artistic legacy, one that celebrates imagination, cultivates creative leadership, and empowers Pandas to share their gifts with the wider world.
