Kinder Connection: A Joyful Start at Crestview Preparatory School

Every August before the school year begins, Crestview welcomes incoming transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students to campus for Kinder Connection. This two-week, half-day program is designed to help our youngest and newest students become familiar with routines, get to know their teachers, and build friendships.

Our children spend time in both of Crestview’s kindergarten classrooms, and they have ample opportunities to play outdoors in our lower elementary recess area, which we call Crestview Park. Each class has two lead teachers, and there are three associate teachers at the kindergarten grade level. Our kindergarten team creates a warm and welcoming environment in which kids participate in morning meetings, explore letters and numbers, experience part of a thematic unit, and create artwork based on what they have learned.

We have found Kinder Connection to be the single most effective way to help smooth the transition into our school. At Crestview, we believe childhood is extraordinary, and we are dedicated to fostering a lifelong love of learning. By offering Kinder Connection, we ensure that all our children begin their educational journeys with confidence and a sense of belonging in our school community.
