Marshall Fundamental School Welcomes Principal for a Day – Dr. Jennifer Miyake-Trapp
Marshall Fundamental welcomed Dr. Jennifer Miyake-Trapp, its Principal for a Day, on Tuesday, November 2nd. The Principal for a Day Program sponsored by the Pasadena Educational Foundation (PEF) connects community members to PUSD Schools.
The Marshall Fundamental community would like to thank Dr. Jennifer-Miyake-Trapp for the time she spent with MFS students and staff.
Dr. Miyake-Trapp is an Associate Professor of Education at Pepperdine University. She has over a decade of experience in K-12 public schools. She has taught middle school and continuation high school in both urban and suburban settings, coached new teachers, and designed professional development workshops focused on meeting the needs of linguistically and ethnically diverse learners. Her primary interests center on teacher preparation for urban contexts, culturally relevant and responsive pedagogy, elementary and secondary curriculum and instruction, project-based learning, and teacher reflection. Other areas of interest include second language acquisition and online learning.
