Marshall Sixth Grader Wins First Place in Number Tournament – Eighth Grade Category



Marshall Fundamental School (MFS) congratulates 6th Grade Student Helena Hu who participated in the Number Tournament held on Oct 27th and won 1st place in the 8th Grade Category along with her Mathangels Team.

When asked, Helena casually mentioned, “They were just numbers.” However, she also mentioned it would be okay to celebrate her success.

So today MFS is celebrating Helena Hu, 6th Grade Mathlete who was one of 140 students, from 36 teams, from about 12 cities across the Southern California Region. Yes, it all adds up and numbers do matter.

Number Tournament is an initiative of Math is Cool, a nonprofit organization of which the goal is to promote the love of math and to provide resources in math education.”
