New Horizon School Pasadena Hosts “Going Nuts in the Peace Garden” Workshop
New Horizon School Pasadena will host “Going Nuts in the Peace Garden,” an acorn processing and Fall Garden Workshop for the whole family, on Sunday, October 11, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The free community event will offer participants of all ages a hands-on exploration of traditional acorn gathering and processing, including how acorns can be transformed into nourishing food.
Led by Tim Martinez, the workshop will give families an opportunity to learn about traditional food practices while taking part in activities throughout the school’s Peace Garden. The morning will include breakfast and refreshments, cooking in the Kitchen Lab, and art activities suitable for all ages, making it an educational and engaging experience for the entire family.
The event is free and open to the community, and all ages are welcome. An RSVP is recommended. Attendees are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle, gloves and a sun hat. The workshop will be held weather permitting.
