Pasadena Unified Special Education Professional Development

Pasadena Unified School District’s (PUSD) Special Education teaching staff recently came together for a full day of professional growth focused on S.P.I.R.E., a structured, multi-sensory reading intervention designed to support students experiencing learning disabilities. Over the course of the session, educators deepened their expertise in foundational literacy areas—phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension—through hands-on practice, modeling, and collaborative reflection. Their participation underscored the district’s commitment to high-quality instruction and to ensuring that each student receives the supports necessary for academic success. The professionalism, diligence, and care displayed by the special education team are deeply appreciated. They reinforce the belief that with the right tools and persistent effort, every student has the potential to grow, learn, and thrive.
