Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) recognizes students and coaches who’ve poured blood, sweat, tears – and sometimes sports drinks – into their winning teams. At its regular meeting last week, the PUSD Board of Education recognized the Marshall Fundamental Girls’ soccer team for claiming the California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section (CIF-SS) Division 5 Championship, the farthest they’ve ever gone in post-season games. Both Coach Erika Prado and Assistant Coach Stephanie Romero led the team to its winning season in their very first year on Marshall’s staff. Coach Prado said she never thought she “would be living in this moment” and she owes it all to the girls and the supportive staff at Marshall.
