Sequoyah School Families Create Lasting Memories During Big Bear Campout

Families from Sequoyah School in Pasadena recently came together for the school’s Summer Field Studies Family Campout in Big Bear, enjoying a weekend of outdoor adventure, connection, and exploration. In true Sequoyah fashion, every camper pitched in to help create a magical experience, strengthening friendships while sharing hikes, time at the lake, camp activities, and memorable moments surrounded by nature.

The Big Bear campout is part of Sequoyah School’s signature Field Studies program, which emphasizes experiential learning through hands-on experiences beyond the classroom. Rooted in the school’s mission to challenge the mind, nurture the heart, and celebrate human dignity, the program helps students and families build confidence, teamwork, resilience, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world while fostering the strong sense of community that defines Sequoyah.
