Sequoyah’s Nest Class Enjoy Field Trip to Lake Cachuma

Sequoyah School’s Nest class recently returned from a fantastic trip to Lake Cachuma, where they visited a harbor seal rookery, saw snowy egrets, hummingbirds, crows, ground squirrels, scrub jays, fence lizards, and snakes. They also paid a visit to the Santa Barbara Zoo, where they made observations about the habitats found in the different enclosures. Back at camp, students took turns cooking and cleaning up meals, practicing knife skills, sauteing vegetables, and washing the group dishes. On the last night, everyone gathered around the campfire to share observations and appreciation. Sequoyah thanks its large parent chaperone team for jumping in to help support the many aspects of the trip. And, of course, a special thank you to Erin and Natalie who finally got to go on a Nest trip without a wind, rain, or snow storm!
