St Francis High School Principles of Science Online Class with Mr. Strazzeri

The important academic mission continues as St. Francis High School (SFHS) strive to challenge its Golden Knights in new and creative ways! Here’s a short reflection from Mr. Kyle Strazzeri on what he’s doing with his 9th grade students to encourage their learning and growth:

Mr. Strazzeri’s Principles of Science class for freshmen is currently studying the Health and Nutrition Unit online. The class has already started a few strategies to enhance student learning. The first online session consisted of a Zoom meeting where all the young men were able to receive instruction on their Nutrition Project that they are conducting over the next few weeks via Google Slides. The students are checking-in everyday on Google Classroom for attendance and the daily agenda. While students work on their Google Slide Projects, they are able to get live feedback and proper scaffolding from their instructor. Future Zoom sessions are scheduled for instruction, discussion, and interaction on a variety of nutritional topics. The boys are up to the task and are motivated to succeed. It is exciting to see them embrace this unique challenge that is a first for everyone involved.
