St. Gregory A. & M. Hovsepian 7th Grade Scientists Explore Energy and Changes of State

St. Gregory A. & M. Hovsepian School 7th grade students learned about how energy influences a change of state. They worked in teams and predicted what could change the rate of an ice cube melting. Students then carried out their investigations to support or disprove their predictions. Through their experiments, students compared variables such as temperature, surface area, and insulation to observe how each factor affected melting rates. They recorded their findings and discussed patterns in energy transfer, strengthening their understanding of scientific inquiry and experimental design.
