St. Gregory A. & M. Hovsepian School 8th Graders Meet Author of The Kaleidoscope of Destiny
Eighth-grade students at St. Gregory A. & M. Hovsepian School had the opportunity to meet the author of the novel they are currently reading in class, The Kaleidoscope of Destiny.
Author Sarah Ignatius visited the school to answer students’ questions about her book. The students came prepared, asking about her inspiration, how the story came together and whether she is Armenian herself.
Ignatius shared how visiting historic Armenia changed her understanding of what being Armenian meant to her and gave her a sense of belonging in a place she had never visited before. Baron Shahe then encouraged students to reflect on their own connection to these stories, reminding them that they live with this history every day and should approach it from within rather than simply observe it from the outside.
The school thanked Ignatius for taking the time to bring The Kaleidoscope of Destiny to life for its eighth-grade students.
