St. Philip the Apostle School Celebrate Ash Wednesday

St. Philip the Apostle School students and staff recently celebrated Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season. “Let us remember the three pillars of Lent – prayer, fasting, and almsgiving”. Ash Wednesday is a solemn reminder of human mortality and the need for reconciliation with God. It is commonly observed by the rubbing of ashes on the foreheads of worshippers in the sign of the cross, as well as fasting.
