The Great Race 2026: A Lunar New Year Celebration at Marengo Elementary



Come join Marengo Elementary School PTA for the Fifth Annual The Great Race to celebrate the Year of the Horse on Sunday, February 22, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Orange Grove Park in South Pasadena!

Live performances, games and giveaways. Trail maps for kids are LIMITED, so please buy yours today!

Walk the Great Race trail to learn about the significance of the twelve Chinese zodiac animals, and enjoy games and giveaways from South Pasadena community organizations, Marengo classrooms and other sponsors including SMOKO. There will be a food booth pick-up for pre-ordered Chinese lunch combos, drinks or desserts from Phoenix Food Boutique, who is generously donating 20% of food sales back to the Marengo PTA Lunar New Year Event. Teamorrow will be providing boba drinks and tanghulu for pre-order and is generously donating 25% of sales back to the Marengo PTA.

Admission/Trail Maps

• Admission is Free.
• Trail Maps for kids 12 and under are $7 each if pre-ordered by February 18th, $10 at the gate, if available. Trail maps are required to play booth games and receive complimentary treats and crafts along the Great Race trail. Collect all 12 stamps at each booth and earn a chance to win a prize from SMOKO! Finish the trail by diving into our Dragon obstacle course.

Pre-Order Food

• PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO FOOD SALES at the event. However, you may PRE-ORDER Chinese lunch combos, drinks and dessert from Phoenix Food Boutique Space at this registration link.
• Please use the Add-On feature at checkout to order your food. Food must be PRE-ORDERED by FEBRUARY 18, 2026 and will be available for pick-up at the finish line. Your food will be available at your timed pick-up window only.
