Thurgood Marshall Girls Varsity Volleyball Captures Mission Valley League Title

Thurgood Marshall Girls Varsity Volleyball Team capped off an incredible season with a commanding 3–0 victory over the Rosemead Panthers on Tuesday night, officially securing their place as the undisputed Mission Valley League Champions. The Eagles soared through the 2025 season undefeated in league play, finishing with an impeccable 12–0 record and an overall season record of 18–4. Friday’s win sealed their championship title, and Tuesday’s sweep against Rosemead was the perfect exclamation point on their journey. The match showcased the team’s consistency, discipline, and heart — qualities that have defined their season from start to finish.

Leading the charge was Lena Lao, whose standout performance powered the Eagles to victory. Lao delivered six aces and five digs, continuing her remarkable streak of matches with three or more aces. Her precision serving and steady defense kept the momentum firmly on Marshall’s side throughout the match. While the Eagles dominated the first two sets (25–14, 25–8), Rosemead pushed back hard in the third, forcing a tight finish at 25–23. But the Marshall Eagles held their ground, closing the match in straight sets and extending their winning streak to three games.
