Thurgood Marshall’s varsity baseball team is riding high after a tense 1–0 victory over Santa Fe in the CIF-Southern Section Division 6 quarterfinals, held Friday, May 23, 2025, at Lake Center Athletic Park.

The Eagles wasted no time getting on the board. In the first inning, senior Caleb Thatcher led off with a double and was promptly driven home by a clutch RBI single from Ryan Pandullo. That lone run would prove decisive.

Thatcher didn’t just spark the offense—he also dominated on the mound. The right-hander tossed a complete-game shutout, scattering six hits without issuing a single walk. His command and poise kept Santa Fe off balance all evening.

The win marks Marshall’s third straight postseason triumph, following earlier playoff victories over Leuzinger and Cerritos. Now, with a semifinal spot secured, the Eagles are just one win away from a shot at the Division 6 championship.

They’ll return to action Tuesday, May 27, with momentum and confidence firmly on their side.
