Washington Elementary STEM Magnet Campus Transformed with Vibrant Murals Thanks to Wasserman Foundation and City Year LA
Washington Elementary STEM Magnet is beautifying its campus with the help of the Wasserman Foundation and City Year LA! Hundreds of Wasserman employees came out and painted vibrant murals across the campus to make the space more welcoming and energized for their students and families. The result is a beautiful collection of murals that stretch out through the hallways, exterior corridors and interior spaces – spreading joy and celebrating the inspiring curriculum that Washington offers.
“We are so grateful for this wonderful contribution. The colorful murals are bold and beautiful! Our students are enjoying the new artwork throughout the day – from the time they walk in the doors, to the moments when they walk to their enrichment classes and labs. It’s a joyful and welcomed enhancement to our campus!” – Reyna Uka, Principal, Washington Elementary STEM Magnet.
The Wasserman Foundation came to help beautify the Washington Campus as part of their Serve Day initiative. A tradition 15 years old in which their employees donate their time and fund materials to help better the communities in which they live and work. This year there were over 1,000 employees in 27 cities. The event started in Los Angeles but has expanded to include international locations. This year in LA, Washington Elementary STEM Magnet was the lucky recipient of their efforts. The foundation chose to focus on Washington as their community was impacted by the recent Eaton fire.
