Wiffle Ball Returns to Octavia E. Butler Magnet

Wiffle ball is making a comeback at Octavia E. Butler Magnet, the former junior high school once attended by Dodgers legend Jackie Robinson. The friendly games are open to all students, whether they have years of experience with softball or baseball, or have never picked up a bat before. Students are invited to join in during Nutrition Break or Lunch, turning free time into a chance for fun, teamwork, and new friendships. The return of Wiffle ball not only brings energy and excitement to the schoolyard, but also connects today’s students with a piece of local history tied to one of baseball’s greatest figures. By blending play with tradition, the school community continues to celebrate the joy of the game while honoring the legacy of Jackie Robinson.
