Young Ambassadors of History: PUSD Junior Docents Lead the Way

Seventh- and eighth-grade students from the PUSD are stepping into the role of Junior Docents at two of Pasadena’s most treasured cultural landmarks – The Gamble House and the Pasadena Museum of History. Through the My Masterpieces program, these middle school students lead interactive and engaging tours for third- and fourth-grade PUSD students, bringing local history, architecture, and storytelling to life for younger learners in meaningful and memorable ways.

This hands-on experience offers more than just a lesson in history. Serving as Junior Docents allows students to act as ambassadors of learning while developing valuable skills in public speaking, confidence, and leadership. As they guide tours and share their knowledge, these students gain a deeper appreciation for their community’s heritage while inspiring the next generation to explore, ask questions, and connect with the past.
