MASONIC WISDOM LODGE HONORS PASADENA POLICE DETECTIVES AND FIRE CAPTAIN FOR EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE

PASADENA, CA – On September 11, 2013, the Pasadena Masonic Center, Wisdom Lodge #202, will honor Pasadena Police Detectives Keith Gomez and Grant Curry (retired), and Pasadena Fire Captain Hrayr (Harry) Kurdoghlian for “service beyond the call of duty”. This event is Wisdom Lodge’s 12th year recognizing the noteworthy contributions of Pasadena first responders.

This year, the Wisdom Lodge has chosen to recognize two Pasadena Homicide Detectives K. Gomez and G. Curry for their exceptional work over the past 13 years (collectively) in solving violent crimes, many of them gang related. Both men have distinguished careers serving in several capacities including patrol, motors, the Special Enforcement Section as certified SWAT members, and detectives. In 2007, Keith Gomez and Grant Curry received the Chief’s Special Award for Excellence in their commitment to solving a high profile homicide. In 2008, both received a Departmental Commendation for their proactive investigation that solved an Altadena homicide and prevented a gang retaliation shooting in Pasadena. Their efforts directly resulted in removing dangerous criminals from the streets and helped to bring closure to the victims’ families through the apprehension and prosecution of the persons responsible for the crimes.

Fire Captain Kurdoghlian began his career with the Pasadena Fire Department in 1994 and has honorably served the Pasadena community. He is being recognized for his role as a local fire fighter and his long-term volunteerism, which include coordinating several charity fundraisers for organizations such as, Muscular Dystrophy, the Salvation Army, Pasadena Boys and Girls Club, and Firefighters Quest for Burn Survivors. .

Detective Keith Gomez, Grant Curry and Captain Harry Kurdoghlian have contributed to making Pasadena a safer and more enjoyable place to live, work and visit. # # # #
