The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV Premier is an excellent choice for those looking for a capable, efficient and affordable electric vehicle. It is an all-new, small SUV based on the Bolt Hatchback. Six-inches longer, the Bolt EUV dedicates three-inches of that space to rear legroom.

It’s powered by a single electric motor and a 65 kWh battery, giving it excellent range and power. The motor puts out 200 horsepower, and it accelerates quickly making for easy freeway merge situations and getting around town. Despite its impressive performance, the EUV still manages to achieve an EPA-estimated 259 miles of range on a single charge. It is equipped with a dual-level charge cord allowing plug into 120 and 240 volt outlets. I only have 120 and needed to change the charge cord accordingly, I had a really hard time changing it. I finally had to have my husband do it and even he had trouble.

The Bolt EUV Premier has impressive safety features. It comes standard with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. It also has an available driver assistance package, which adds adaptive cruise control and a surround-view camera.

It also comes with plenty of luxury and convenience features. The interior is well-equipped with leather seats, a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and heated front seats. The exterior features 19-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, and a hands-free liftgate.

Among the extras offered is Super Cruise. It’s General Motors’ hands-free driver assistance technology and the EUV is the first Chevrolet to have this option. Super Cruise is best used in free flowing situations like a drive up the 5 or a trip on LA’s other highways at non-peak times. It detects when your attention waivers from the road and alerts you. So don’t think you can nap or read a book. Your attention is needed too.

Driving the Bolt EUV is a lot of fun. It accelerates quickly and is relatively nimble along curvy roads. The estimated 247 miles on a single charge goes a long way to reducing range anxiety. During my week of driving I only plugged it in once and that was into a 120-volt plug. I had plenty of juice for my everyday chores and my longer trips.

Overall, the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV Premier is an impressive car. It offers great performance, plenty of luxury features, and excellent safety features. It’s a great choice for anyone who wants an efficient and reliable electric car.
