I don’t visit Vegas often, I’m not a gambler nor am I fond of crowds. But every once in a while I just need a Vegas hit to drink in some of the energy, bright lights and sounds. It’s a unique experience that I’ve enjoyed since I was a kid.

This trip we found ourselves in the Palms Casino Resort. It’s just slightly off the strip, which made it all that much more attractive. I didn’t know this before I arrived but it is owned by the San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority. From the moment we stepped in, there was a distinct vibe. The staff, from the hostess guiding us to check-in to the gentleman who assisted us, exuded genuine warmth and friendliness. Their eagerness to help never felt contrived but truly sincere.

The Palms Casino Resort boasts two unique towers, housing 766 hotel rooms and suites. This resort also presents a rich blend of bars, restaurants, live entertainment venues, and captivating lifestyle experiences within its 95,000-square-foot revamped casino.

We were booked into a Fantasy King in the Fantasy Tower. It was on the 40th floor so the view was amazing! The room was pretty large with a full-couch, work desk and king-sized bed. The only thing missing was a coffee maker for my morning wake up brew.

We had a lot of fun wandering around the casino and looking at all the restaurants and bars. We meandered over to The Palms Pool, a vast 73,000-square-foot multi-tiered area that offers two lavish main pools and 39 distinctive cabanas, many of which have their own private pool or jacuzzi. Additionally, the space provides daybeds and premium poolside seating.

We had a couple of meals during our stay. We weren’t in the mood for any of the fancier fare so we ended up in the Serrano Vista Cafe for dinner and Laguna Pool House and Kitchen for lunch the next day. The food was tasty and fresh and the service delightful. I just can’t say enough about the employees. Every single one I encountered was friendly, helpful and cheerful.

We had a lovely, relaxing stay at the Palms.
