Altadena Libraries is launching its “Our Summer” program, a colorful experience that celebrates community connection, with a fun event on Saturday, June 5, featuring internationally known magician Christopher T. Magician (the “T” stands for taco, an Altadena favorite every summer).

Christopher T. Magician is a family entertainer and kids birthday specialist. His books, “Beyond Look Don’t See: Furthering the Art of Children’s Magic” and “Just for Fun” have taken the magic world by storm, receiving countless rave reviews, and taken him on lecture tours around the country, teaching other kid show magicians how to improve their craft. Christopher T Magician has honed his technique and skills over 15 years of performing magic for children at parties and other special events.

Saturday’s launch is a free onsite, in-person event with limited socially-distanced reserved seating available at the front lawn of the main library at 600 E. Mariposa Street, so registration is required.

Families may attend without registration, said a library announcement, but staff will be unable to enforce social distancing outside of the reserved area.

To register, visit www.shorturl.at/bgFN5.

The launching program is from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

“Our Summer” at Altadena Libraries allows kids and their families to encounter Altadena in brand new ways through the months of June and July. You can attend a pop-up event with the library’s new bookmobile around town, or try out a local activity idea from a neighbor shared on the library’s “Our Summer” bulletin board. For kids, “Our Summer” offers many opportunities to experience how reading and connecting with your community can color your world.
