American Legacy Fine Arts (ALFA) was founded in 2003 by Elaine Adams, wife of renowned artist Peter Adams.

Back then, Elaine opened the gallery on Linda Vista Avenue,  because she wanted to present to the community her husband’s work and “to serve the community with fine art.”

Years later, the gallery started showcasing the work of other artists from California and all over the world.

“Now we have a very robust gallery with both what we call contemporary-traditional artists and historic art. Contemporary-traditional artists practice traditional skills in painting and sculpting,” Elaine said.

According to Elaine, every artist featured in the gallery is an award-winning artist.

“They’ve all won major awards,” said Elaine. “We have what I call blue chip artists, which are the top of the top who are very established. And then we have the emerging artists who are really developing their careers.”

ALFA looks like a combination of a private home and a museum.

Elaine said she wanted the gallery to be away from urban noise “so people would see art in a quiet environment.”

Unlike other galleries which are typically open to walk-ins, people can visit American Legacy Fine Arts by private appointment.

“The people who do make an appointment to visit the gallery are very serious about art.

“They’re not walking in just to look and go. These are people who really want to discuss art. They want to learn more about it, they want to build interesting collections. And that part’s very rewarding, talking to people who really care about art.”

ALFA will host the “The 20th Anniversary Exhibition: A Legacy of Excellence and Premier Art” from November 10 to December 16.

This exhibition, marking a notable 20-year journey of the gallery, will showcase a carefully curated selection of paintings and sculptures, underscoring the gallery’s dedication to outstanding art.

A total of 32 artists with more than 40 works of art paintings and sculpture will be featured at the exhibit.

Participating artists include Peter Adams, Nikita Budkov, Béla Bácsi, Peter Brooke, Karl Dempwolf, Kathleen Dunphy, Michael Godfrey, Richard Humphrey, Chuck KovacicJean LeGassick, Jennifer Moses, Charles Muench, Daniel W. Pinkham, Mian Situ, Tim Solliday, and Alexey Steele.

“It’s going to be a wonderful party to get together and celebrate 20 years of our gallery being in the community and growing and connecting with artists and our collectors,” said Elaine.

The event will feature a special reception, and attendees can RSVP via: linktr.ee/AmericanLegacyFineArts. For inquiries, call 6265777733.
