The Music Center issued a call Tuesday for videos from Los Angeles-based performing artists and cultural groups who want to perform at the 61st annual L.A. County Holiday Celebration, which is planned for Christmas Eve.

The televised event is set for 3-6 p.m. on Dec. 24 at The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, pending county guidelines on gatherings and events as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, according to The Music Center.

Artists are being sought in the vocal ensemble, musical ensemble or dance categories, and performances must be suitable for a crowd of all ages.

As in recent years, those who want to apply need to complete an online application form and submit a high-quality, three-minute video that shows a continuous performance of a past work and has been recorded within the last 12 months.

If artists do not currently have a performance recording, the application process can be started with the video portion submitted after the “Safer at Home” order is lifted and before the Aug. 2 deadline.

For the first time, recorded video calls through Zoom or similar programs would also be accepted as performance video if existing material is not readily available before the deadline.

Interested artists can apply at holidaycelebration.org.
