Given the popularity of cannabis products these days, it’s no surprise that three particular types of products are moving quickly at Naia CBD in East Pasadena—gummies, topicals, and oil drop tinctures, all made by leading companies in the Cannabis industry.

According to Naia’s CBD specialist Estrella Venegas, three CBD mixtures in gummy form are attracting new customers and might not feel comfortable taking CBD droplets underneath the tongue. The gumdrop-shaped supplements, which contain no THC, are available in three popular mixtures, said Venegas.

First off are CBDfx Gummies, cannabinoids made with melatonin.

While melatonin is a natural hormone primarily released by the pineal gland at night, and long associated with the sleep–wake cycle, it may not be enough for those who have severe insomnia, said Venegas.

“Melatonin by itself doesn’t work for a lot of people, but combining it with CBD is a game changer,” Venegas added.

Another popular CBDfx Gummie is one mixed with Turmeric and Spirulina.

“That is like a triple threat to inflammation,” said Venegas. “For those people who have joint pain or muscle pain, they seem to like those gummies the best.”

And should customers want CBD gummies with no specialized additives, those are also available in a Mixed Berry flavor, she said.

According to Venegas, CBD alone is good for stress and anxiety, as well as inflammation. She suggests using  it “long term,” anywhere from two weeks to a month, to boost your immune system. Venegas noted that CBD can also help with depression.

Venegas also pointed out that, according to studies she has seen,  CBD doesn’t seem to interfere with any medication a customer may currently be taking.

“It’s always best to speak to your doctor,” she said, but added, “a lot of our guests who do shop at the CBD store are on a wide range of different medications from the pharmacy. And they haven’t given me any negative feedback as to where it counteracts their medication or anything.”

Venegas also took note of two other brands of topicals, from MedTerra and   Papa and Barkley. Both companies produce lines of salves and ointments that can be applied on areas affected  inflammation, pain, or  nerve damage.

As Venegas explained, “Let’s say I fell and I sprained my ankle. I would apply a lotion or any form of topical on the affected area, three to five times a day, just to decrease the inflammation that I already have.”

Venegas added that CBD is also a preventative, “so applying  CBD lotions on the affected areas at the start of one’s day, can help prevent any major inflammation happening as you’re going about your day.”

A company called Canna Hemp also produces a range of  CDB “Elixirs,” which are oil droplets applied  underneath the tongue and held there anywhere between one to three minutes, to let the body absorb them.

CBD elixirs add different terpenes  from the cannabis plant. Terpenes, according to Medical News Today, are “aromatic compounds found in many plants, though many people commonly associate them with cannabis because cannabis plants contain high concentrations of them. These aromatic compounds create the characteristic scent of many plants, such as cannabis, pine, and lavender, as well as fresh orange peel”

“These are known to  target different effects,” said Venegas. For example, there is a “focus” elixir as well as a “euphoria” elixir.

The euphoria elixir  would contain terpenes to help with  negative thoughts and emotions, “but the CBD by itself, is still going to help with the stress, the anxiety, and inflammation,” she said.

Venegas also notes proudly that “Naia CBD is a great reliable store to purchase your CBD products from. We are very careful on what we put on our shelf. We always make sure that they come with their certificate of analysis, and are grown to organic standards. There’s no pesticides or anything harmful for us in any of these products we sell.”

Naia customers can now receive a 25% online or in-store discount by using “Pasadena25.” It expires March 15, 2021, and is limited to one use per customer. Naia CBD is at 128 South Rosemead, Pasadena, California. www.naia.com.
