Come And Get Your Love, or We’ll Just Bring it Over

Favorite Pasadena eateries are offering romantic Valentine’s Day meals for pick up or delivery

Just because you can’t sit and luxuriate inside your favorite restaurant this Sunday, doesn’t mean Valentine’s Day still can’t be romantic. A number of Pasadena restaurants are offering to pack up your favorite dinner for you to come

Celestino Ristorante’s Executive Chef Calogero Drago can prepare a romantic dinner on the outdoor patio or you can place an order for takeout or delivery and celebrate at home. Celestino’s is offering a special Valentine’s Day Five-Course Prix-Fixe Menu, or a Valentine’s Day Five-Course Prix-Fixe Menu with a bottle of wine or prosecco.

Dinner begins with Sweet Corn Soup, and then an antipasto mushrooms Soufflé with Fontina cheese and black truffle.

Then comes the pasta combination,  pairing Risotto with red beets & goat cheese,  along with heart-shaped ravioli filled with shrimp in a lobster sauce.

The entree is a choice of either the filet of sea bass with polenta, leeks and a black truffle broth, or chicken roulade stuffed with mozzarella cheese, mortadella and marsala wine sauce.

There is a Valentine’s Day Special Creation for dessert, and for those who want to raise a celebratory glass (or two), Drago will include a Bottle of Prosecco or Super Sicilian ($25 Per Bottle) to compliment the Valentine’s Day Five-Course Prix-Fixe Menu.

There is also the homemade authentic Family-Style Lasagna Menu that can be pre-ordered 24 hours in advance. Tiramisu, Panna Cotta (Vanilla Custard with Strawberries) is also available as well as the Torta Al Cioccolato.

Even more Italian dining is available at Mi Piace, with dinner available in the outdoor patio or in your home with take out or delivery.

Executive Chef Gil Saulnier is preparing Valentine’s Day Specials along with Mi Piace’s Traditional Italian Menu.

This year’s dinners begin with the charcuterie & cheese featuring bresaola, San Daniele prosciutto, spicy calabrese, saucisson, Copa salami, chef cheese selection, fig marmalade, cornichons, and extra virgin olive oil crostini, or perhaps share a lobster truffle mac & cheese with shaved black truffles.

For the Entrées, there is Mi Piace’s Lasagna di Carne—hand-made fresh pasta layered with beef, pancetta, fresh herbs, ricotta and mozzarella topped with San Marzano marinara sauce.

There is also the Prime 22 Day-Aged Bone-In Rib Eye with a Truffle Pecorino twice-baked potato; or a Filetto di Salmone with a pan-seared salmon filet, fresh vegetables, mashed potatoes and a lemon caper sauce.

There is also the range of Mi Piace signature items like the Ravioli con Salsiccia with sautéed mild Italian sausage, wilted broccolini, sun-dried tomatoes, sliced garlic and white wine finished with Pecorino cheese; grilled double lamb chops prepared with a port wine demi-glace and roasted Yukon potatoes, or the spaghetti all’aragosta comprised of sautéed diced lobster tail tossed with spaghetti in a San Marzano smokey chipotle cream sauce.

Desserts include the Midnight Fantasy, a chocolate cake with swiss bittersweet chocolate fudge and raspberry purée, Tiramisu, or New York Cheesecake with a creamy graham cracker crust, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream.

The dishes can be paired with any one of Mi Piace’s award-winning wines or Bar Manager Nikos Baltas’s Smoke On the Water— Wheatley vodka, Aperol, St-Germain, and special aromatic fog, or the Purple Rain cocktail made of Empress 1908 Gin, Fever-tree Mediterranean tonic, grapefruit peel, Juniper berries, pink peppercorn and Rosé.

Sweethearts who want to celebrate at home on Valentine’s Day (February 14th) can pre-order the Valentine’s Day Four-Course Prix-Fixe Dinner Menu For Two ($125.00 For Two Guests) by Friday, February 12th for Takeout and Curbside Pickup on Sunday, February 14th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

The Raymond 1886’s four-course prix-fixe Valentine’s Day dinner menu for two at home will begin with a first course of spiced yogurt & pickled vegetables with bread and butter.

The second course consists of Chef Quintana’s tantalizing peas & carrots made with spring fava beans, heirloom carrots, pea tendrils, guajillo couscous and pecorino romano cheese. The main course is a choice of either the deconstructed Beef Wellington prepared with turbo onions and a cognac peppercorn jus, or delight in the snapper served with spring radishes, Bloomsdale spinach, and pickled cipollini onions.

Dessert features a choice between Pastry Chef Raymond Morales’s Raspberries and Yogurt served with a raspberry yogurt crème, litchi panna cotta, vanilla chiffon, and raspberry jus, or the Chocolate and Honey made with a dark chocolate fondant, honey caramel, crèmefraiche, and chocolate honeycomb.

Enhance the evening with 1886 Head Barman Jesus Gomez’s passionate Whisky Barrel Punch for Two ($32 Serving for 2) comprised of Eagle Rare bourbon, simple syrup, lemon juice, Grenadine syrup, Angostura bitters, Champagne, and Maraschino cherries as garnish, or The Long Goodbye for Two ($30 Serving for 2) made with white rum, lemon juice, Curacao syrup, hibiscus syrup, orange bitters, Ting grapefruit soda, and Halfmoon grapefruit garnish.
