Published on Nov 9, 2023

Descanso Gardens, Southern California’s cherished urban oasis, is once again opening the annual “Enchanted Forest of Light” show this year, with exciting new routes and breathtaking installations that promise to ignite the imagination.

Nestled within the Gardens’ serene landscape, this year’s event opens on Nov. 19 and introduces a fresh route through the Rose Garden, inviting guests to explore a myriad of captivating light displays. One of the highlights is the Rose Garden’s Labyrinth, transformed by HYBYCOZO’s mesmerizing 3-D geometric sculptures, offering an immersive experience like no other. Moreover, visitors will be spellbound by the radiant “meadow grass” installation that gracefully sways among the rose bushes.

Adding to the enchantment, Tom Fruin’s “stained glass” houses will create a charming village on the Main Lawn, featuring new interactive lighting options that add to the whimsy. Visitors can also lose themselves in a hanging light installation under the Oaks, evoking an ethereal ambiance that harmonizes with the natural beauty of Descanso Gardens.

“We are beyond excited to welcome guests to Enchanted once again this year,” Juliann Rooke, CEO of Descanso Gardens, said. “With our new routes through the Rose Garden and the introduction of new installations, this season promises to be a truly magical experience that will delight and inspire visitors of all ages.”
