Dispose of Your Clutter at E-Waste Recycling and Document Shredding Event on Saturday

STAFF REPORT
Published on Feb 18, 2021

Being stuck at home for almost a year, there’s a good chance you’ve collected a few documents or items that you just don’t want or need anymore.

Luckily, Pasadena’s Department of Public Works is hosting a free E-Waste Recycling and Paper Shredding event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Brookside Park’s Parking Lot I, located at 360 N. Arroyo Blvd., just south of the Rose Bowl.

Open to Pasadena residents only, the event provides an opportunity to recycle all of your obsolete electronics and shred up to three legal-size boxes of documents. Proof of residency in Pasadena is required.

E-waste includes all your unserviceable TVs and cable TV equipment, cell phones and telephones, computer monitors and computer peripherals, copiers, DVDs and VCRs, fax machines, laptops, microwave ovens, printers, CFL bulbs, batteries, radios and scanners, cassette players, tape drives and stereos. Bring them to the event for proper disposal. Take note that many of these items have parts that can be recycled back to a useful purpose.

Shredding trucks and e-waste collection sites will be arranged at different stations in Parking Lot I.

The duration of the event is subject to truck availability, the Public Works Department said.
