Since 1990, the Bungalow Heaven Home Tour has been giving guests a chance to experience Pasadena’s past through its architectural history and celebrate homes that have been preserved and restored in the community. Featured houses showcase the unique architectural details and period-appropriate renovations for which our neighborhood is famous. The interior of eight homes will be featured on the self-guided walking tour, with volunteer docents on hand to explain the history and architectural highlights of each home. This year’s theme, Historic Hearths and Homes, highlights some of the unique fireplaces created during the early 20th Century in Pasadena and Los Angeles area. Consistent with the Arts and Crafts movement, you can observe period materials and designs that make our fireplaces the center piece of each home. Along the route, participants can speak to restoration experts about how to maintain a historic home and view demonstrations of restoration work. Throughout the day, McDonald Park will be hopping with music, a silent auction featuring unique items and local food trucks for lunch. You are invited to Bungalow Heaven Neighborhood Association for this special event celebrating its neighborhood’s history.
