The College Women’s Club of Pasadena, a 103-year-old Women’s Club in Pasadena, will celebrate and recognize scholarship recipients and their invited guests with a luncheon at The Blinn House. This event is open to members and invited guests. For more information, visit www.cwcpasadena.org. The College Women’s Club Scholarship Committee first began with $100, giving loans to women seeking higher education in 1923. Over the years, the Scholarship endowment has grown to about $2,000,00. Currently, the Club gives 8 to 15 scholarships and fellowships each year to women in colleges and universities in and around Pasadena, including Art Center College of Design, California Institute of Technology, California State University Los Angeles (College of Education & School of Nursing), East Los Angeles College, Fuller Theological Seminary (Schools of Psychology & Sociology), Glendale Community College, Occidental College, Pacific Oaks College, and Pasadena City College. A GPA of 3.0 or above is required and must be maintained. Over its history, the Club has distributed about $1.2 million to over 600 women. In 2016, the Scholarship Foundation joined in a partnership with the Pasadena Community Foundation.
