This season, Musical Interludes explores the work and legacies of three influential music educators: Antonio Salieri, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, and Nadia Boulanger. PCM conclude the season with Nadia Boulanger, a revolutionary educator who made a profound impact on the development of classical and contemporary music in the 20th Century by nurturing the talents of many notable composers. Hosted by PCM faculty member and KUSC host, Brian Lauritzen. Program: Fauré | Piano Quartet No. 1 Op. 15, movement I Boulanger | 3 Pieces for Cello and Piano Copland | Nocturne Gershwin | 3 Preludes Ginastera | Pampeana No. 2, Op. 21 Piazzolla | Libertango Glass | String Quartet No. 3 (”Mishima”), movement IV Bernstein | West Side Story Suite* * Premiere of new arrangement by Wesley Chu Artists: Sarkis Baltaian (piano), InSook Baltaian (piano), Benjamin Hoffman (violin), Kathryn Eames (piano), Ismael Guerrero Bombut (cello), Mike Kaufman (cello), Laura Mazon Franqui (guitar), Adam Millstein (violin), Jonah Sirota (viola), and Alexander Zhu (piano).
