Published on Oct 13, 2023

The vibrant cultural scene of Pasadena comes alive as ArtNight Pasadena makes a return on Friday, October 13 offering free entry from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. to 20 premier arts and cultural venues across the city.

The event, which showcases a broad spectrum of dance, music, and visual arts, aims to draw families and art enthusiasts for a four-hour cultural spectacle.

Attendees have a chance to explore a myriad of artistic activities spread across different neighborhoods. In East Pasadena, the highlights include an immersive multimedia night at Boston Court Pasadena, featuring electronic tunes by CINIMA and live painting by Surge Witrön, as well as student performances and hands-on art activities at artWORKS Youth Center.

Central Pasadena is set to captivate audiences with a unique blend of video projections and multimedia collages exploring various themes at the Art Center, Mullin Gallery, alongside exhilarating dance and live music performances at the Lineage Performing Arts Center.

In North Pasadena, visitors can appreciate a juried fine art exhibition showcasing the picturesque Arroyo Seco through paintings by the California Art Club. Meanwhile, the Northwest region hosts a rich array of artistic endeavors at the Jackie Robinson Community Center, including interactive painting sessions, and a collaborative art exhibit titled “WILD,” emphasizing the synergy between sustainability, climate advocacy, and endangered species awareness.

The City of Pasadena facilitates easy navigation between venues with free shuttle services running from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., having Pasadena City Hall as the primary transportation hub. The City Hall area further enhances the festive spirit with Halloween-themed musical theater, a spooky succulent workshop, and several food trucks for a quick bite.

Sponsored by the City’s Arts and Culture Commission through Mini-grants, this initiative also supports small arts groups and individual artists, promoting inclusivity with Braille versions of the ArtNight brochure at each venue. For a detailed schedule and more information, attendees are encouraged to visit ArtNightPasadena.org, available in both English and Spanish.
